Your driver/guide will pick you up from your transfer point or airport and drive you to MASAILAND LODGED in Arusha for a welcome dinner and a briefing by your TOUCHSTONE guide.

Your unforgettable adventure begins this morning with a drive to the Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a multi-use area that is home to some of Tanzania's most famous wildlife as well as to its indigenous Masai. Feel the thrill of being the first of your group to spot one of the"big five".During our drive keep alert for a leopard sleeping in the tree tops. The park is home to over 3 million large animals offering unlimited opportunities to see animals in their natural habitat: wildebeests during their annual migration attempting to cross the croc-infested Mara River but also peacefully grazing zebra, impala and the majestic giraffe. In the evening enjoy the wonder of your first safari camping experience.

Today's game drive will give you ample opportunity to continue your search for the "big five" as well as hone your bird recognition skills as we traverse rolling grasslands dotted with wildlife as far as the eye can see.

Between sightings our highly knowledgeable guides will initiate you into the fascinating and hidden world of the symbiotic relationships of our wildlife. In late afternoon we return to Nyani Campsite for a second evening far from the more traveled paths.

Early risers will enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the plains of the Serengeti and after a hearty breakfast join their group for another full-day game drive where you'll continue to experience why the Serengeti calls to so many adventurers. The evening finds us at the very rim of the Ngorongoro Crater enjoying breathtaking views from SIMBA PUBLIC CAMPSITE where abundant animal sightings are a common end to yet another day of unforgettable adventures.

Guaranteed to be a highlight of your safari, today's drive begins with an early morning descent into the crater itself. Notice the change in temperature as we drop down onto its floor and the spectacular panorama that will make up the backdrop for your day of magic. Look for hyenas, mountain reedbuck and jackals. Bird lovers will be enchanted by the numerous species including white pelicans and flamingos that dot the crater lakes of Ndutu and Magadi. We'll stop for a mid-day break along the shores of one of these lakes, a favorite watering hole not only of waterfowl but also hippos. With luck we may even spot one of Tanzania's endangered white rhinos on our drive out of the crater and our return to Arusha and our final stay at MASAILAND LODGE.
